Wooga increases sales

The Berlin-based games company Wooga turned over a total of 238.9 million euros in 2020.
The 2020 financial statements of Berlin-based games company Wooga show a significant increase in sales. Within one year, it rose from 82.5 million euros to 128.9 million. The net profit for the year also rose sharply. In 2020, it was 19.1 million, compared to 4.3 million and 13.8 million in the years before.
According to the company, the game June's Journey, which was launched in 2017, was particularly responsible for these figures, as the opportunities for monetization were implemented from the outset during development. Revenue is thus generated through in-app purchases and advertising revenue. "The remaining games, which have been on the market for several years, show a stable or declining development," Wooga writes.
According to the financial statements, the goals for 2021 and 2022 are the further development of two new games. According to the game developers, both are on the way to market maturity. Wooga was founded in Berlin in 2009. Playtika bought the company in 2018 for 200 million euros.
