10x Group invests in drone start-up Quantum Systems

The Bavarian start-up wants to become Europe's market leader for industrial drones. A team of business angels is also set to help.

Quantum Systems from Gilching near Munich has an addition to its circle of investors. The Munich-based angel association 10x Group is investing in the drone start-up. The amount of the investment is not disclosed. Quantum Systems intends to use the money for expansion, as well as to expand sales, marketing and research and development.

Quantum Systems offers industrial drones for smart farming, volume calculation in open-cast mining, surveying work for large construction sites, real-time position detection, tactical mapping, search and rescue operations and the automated inspection of railroad tracks, among other things. "The opportunities for professional, industrial-grade drones in the commercial and government markets are unprecedented in the coming years," says Felix Haas, one of the partners of the 10x Group and responsible for Quantum-Systems. "We have identified Quantum-Systems as the global market leader in terms of technology and products and look forward to supporting the management team in realizing this huge opportunity." In addition to 10x Group, Andrej Henkler of Leblon Capital is also participating.

10x Group is a team of founders and entrepreneurs who joined forces in 2007 to invest in digital start-ups from Europe and Silicon Valley. The Munich-based company currently supports 120 start-ups. These include the social media platform Jodel, the security provider IDnow, the neighborhood portal nebenan.de and the token provider Upvest.
