Wingcopter delivers drones to the USA for 14 million euros

Spright wants to improve medical care in rural areas in the USA with the help of Wingcopter drones.
The German start-up Wingcopter is supplying Spright with drones for 14 million euros. The subsidiary of the US medical company wants to use the drone fleet to transport medicines, vaccines, blood and laboratory samples in rural areas. Initial tests are currently taking place in Kansas. The agreement also stipulates that Spright will take over the maintenance, repair and overhaul of all Wingcopter drones in the USA.
The two companies have been strategic partners since August of last year. Among other things, Spright will support Wingcopter in having the drones certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration. "This multi-million dollar commercial agreement with Spright is clear proof that Wingcopter 198 is a perfect fit for the product market. We are proud to enable large-scale drone delivery in the United States with this strong partnership," says Wingcopter CEO and co-founder Tom Plümmer.
Tom Plümmer, Jonathan Hesselbarth and Ansgar Kadura founded Wingcopter in Weiterstadt in 2017. The start-up's drones can transport up to six kilograms over a distance of 75 kilometers.
