Aiga Senftleben becomes part of Billie management team

The co-founder of the company previously worked as a legal advisor at Paypal and Ebay, among others. Among other things, she will now be responsible for employer branding at the fintech.

Berlin-based fintech Billie has appointed co-founder Aiga Senftleben to its management board. This is the first time the company's management team has been expanded. Senftleben, a lawyer, has already been responsible for legal and compliance at the B2B payment provider since 2016 and is chairwoman of Billie's board.

Senftleben has worked as legal counsel at Paypal and Ebay, among others. In the same role, she led the legal departments at Funding Circle Europe and Zencap. "At Billie, we believe in equality and diverse teams. To build a good product, you need a heterogeneous talent pool, an open corporate culture and different perspectives," says Aiga Senftleben. In her new role, she wants to give more weight to the topics of team, corporate culture and employer branding. She also wants to address the topics of equality, diversity and fairness in the workplace.

Billie was founded in 2016 by Senftleben, Christian Grobe and Matthias Knecht. The company describes itself as the leading provider of so-called "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) payment methods for business customers. It offers digital payment services to business-to-business companies. Based on risk models, fully digitized processes and a tech platform, Billie aims to provide large and small businesses with fast liquidity, automated workflows and access to modern payment solutions.
