Axel Springer invests in BRYGHT
The Essen-based start-up BRYGHT has received an investment from Axel Springer. The company intends to use the fresh capital to further expand its platform, which enables creators to develop independent, scalable business models from their reach.
Creator economy equals dependence on platforms
Millions of creators in Europe generate reach on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and TikTok every day. However, despite growing follower numbers, they remain dependent on algorithms, platform rules and monetization models of the providers. Revenues are often difficult to plan, while control over data and community remains limited.
BRYGHT has an idea for this. The platform provides the necessary infrastructure so that creators can turn their audience into their own independent business.
Infrastructure for digital business models
BRYGHT bundles central functions of digital business models in one system. These include a dedicated marketplace for digital products such as courses or coaching, an integrated payment solution and membership and subscription models for recurring revenue. The offering is complemented by community functions and direct communication channels between creators and users.
The aim is for creators to retain full control over prices, content, data and customer relationships, completely independently of external platforms.
Strong growth since launch
BRYGHT has seen dynamic growth since its launch in October 2024. According to the company, the turnover (GMV) processed via the platform has doubled every month. Creators are not only using the platform to build a community, but also increasingly to develop their own business models. Back in October 2025, we reported on an expanded pre-seed round to 1 million euros on the Startbase.
Axel Springer contributes reach and distribution
With Axel Springer's investment, BRYGHT is expanding its platform to include distribution. Creators gain access to selected media channels and reach of the media company. At the same time, the partnership also opens up new opportunities for journalists, experts and media players to build their own communities and business models via BRYGHT.
In the long term, the startup plans to build an open network of media partners that will offer creators additional visibility and growth opportunities.
European answer to the creator economy
BRYGHT is positioning itself as a European alternative to existing US providers. The focus is on GDPR-compliant payment processing, euro-based business models and compliance with regulatory requirements in Europe.
The platform combines distribution, payment and delivery in an integrated system and aims to create a central infrastructure for the European creator economy. The amount and scope of the investment were not disclosed.
