Brighter AI closes Series A financing

With its anonymization technology, Brighter AI makes publicly recorded images and videos usable in compliance with data protection regulations. The start-up is now receiving support from a new investor.
Brighter AI has completed its Series A financing round. Armilar Venture Partners is a new investor and led the round. Existing investors ECapital and G+D Ventures also participated. The company has not disclosed the amount involved.
Marian Gläser and Patrick Kern founded Brighter AI in 2017 as a spin-off from automotive supplier Hella. The company has developed software that can anonymize people in images and videos. They can then be used for machine learning in compliance with data protection regulations and are used, for example, in the development of autonomous driving, public transport, retail and healthcare. The company has been awarded the European Data Protection Seal of Approval for its software.
"We have won five new partnerships in the last twelve months, for example DXC and Siemens, and have increased sales by a high double-digit percentage every quarter," says Brighter AI co-founder and CEO Marian Gläser. "The company's solid growth is now supported by another strong partner. The entire team is looking forward to having Armilar Venture Partners by their side to scale the company to the next level."
