First product from Hellobetter in the DiGa directory

The app on prescription promised Health Minister Jens Spahn last year and introduced the DiGa directory. The latest offer in the list: A therapy against stress and burnout from Hellobetter.

The start-up Hellobetter has made it into the directory of digital health applications (DiGa) with a therapy against stress and burnout. This means that doctors can now prescribe the therapy to all people with statutory health insurance in Germany.

The course against stress and burnout includes a twelve-week therapy that is based on classic cognitive behavioral therapy. Users are accompanied by psychologists who provide feedback on the training units worked on and also provide support in acute crises. "The demand for psychological support services is enormous and has increased even more since the beginning of the pandemic," says Elena Heber, co-founder of Hellobetter, which has been around since 2015. "With Hellobetter, we're helping people help themselves by empowering them to take charge of their mental health and provide quality mental health care."

Only offerings that have gone through a lengthy process on how their product works make it into the DiGa directory of the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. It's only since December 2020 that this ability to prescribe apps on prescription has existed. Hellobetter took just as long to go through the testing process of their offer in order to meet the medical standards.
