Exclusive: True Motion sells 100,000 shoes

The start-up's products are designed to provide better protection against running injuries. Four years after its founding, the Cologne-based company has now reached a milestone.
The running shoe start-up True Motion has announced that it has reached a milestone: in February, it sold its one hundred thousandth pair of shoes. This was achieved despite a number of obstacles in the recent past, as Commercial Managing Director Christian Arens explains: "Closed factories or skyrocketing freight costs - we've had to overcome corona-related difficulties in the supply chains time and again recently." Nevertheless, he says, expansion into additional markets has been successful and the 100,000-shoe mark has been reached.
Arens had founded True Motion in 2018 together with Gert-Peter Brüggemann and and Andre Kriwet. The company relies on a technology for its shoes that does not interfere with the natural course of human movement and is intended to reduce the risk of running injuries accordingly. The start-up has so far dispensed with external investors.
In addition to Germany, True Motion is now also represented in Great Britain and the Benelux countries. In addition to the first model, called Nevos, it now has three other shoes in its range.
