The provider is behind the Mika app, which is intended to digitally accompany cancer patients during therapy. IBB Ventures, among others, is now investing.

Berlin-based startup Fosanis has closed another round of funding. The provider behind the app Mika is getting money from Ananda Impact Ventures, IBB Ventures and the investment company Evodia, among others. Money has also flowed from the ProFIT program of Investitionsbank Berlin.

According to the company, the invested sum will flow into the distribution and expansion of its own app, as well as into studies to show that the Mika app is also effective. The goal is to get into the directory for digital health applications, so that the health insurance companies also pay for the costs of the digital therapy support. The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices is currently deciding on this.

Gandolf Finke and Jan Simon Raue founded Fosanis in 2017 and want to support people who have cancer with the app Mika. In the app, patients can find interesting facts, tips and exercises to get through life well despite cancer. The team is creating content together with the Charité Berlin, the University Hospital Leipzig and the NCT (National Center for Tumor Diseases Heidelberg).

Gandolf Finke, Managing Director of Fosanis, says: "We are very happy that our investors continue to support the Mika app. It shows that we are on the right track. Our obvious goal is to be the first leading app on prescription for cancer patients in Germany."
