Getir is now also available in Germany

The Turkish company is considered a pioneer of 10-minute grocery delivery services and is valued at €7.5 billion. The service has been available in Berlin since yesterday.
Currently, the 10-minute food delivery services like Gorrilas are making rather negative headlines, which could benefit the new competitor: The Turkish provider Getir is now also available in Berlin. Back in April, the company announced its intention to come to Germany and be represented in ten locations within two years. Now Getir is launching in the capital in the districts of Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln, Prenzlauer Berg, Schöneberg and Steglitz.
Getir is pioneering the idea of delivering groceries to homes within ten minutes (or less), ordered beforehand via an app. Transportation is provided by couriers on bicycles. Founded in 2015 by Nazim Salur, Serkan Borançili and Tuncay Tütek, the company raised $550 million in its latest funding round in early June and is worth €7.5 billion, according to the company. Currently, Getir is available primarily in Turkey, but also in London, Amsterdam and now Berlin. Later this year, the company plans to enter the US market.
