Another 10-minute food delivery company wants to gain a foothold in Germany: Turkish company Getir is the first to offer the concept - it plans to open its first location in Berlin in a few months.

Gorillas, Flink and Picnic are just a few of the start-ups that promise to deliver food to your home in no time. Now the next provider is coming to Germany. Getir is the pioneer of the concept from Turkey, according to information from Gründerszene

, the company wants to open its first location in Berlin in just a few months. And the further plans are ambitious: Within two years, Getir wants to be represented in ten German locations.

As Gründerszene reports, Getir registered a German GmbH at the end of February and is looking for a team for the German offshoot of the company via job portals. A first position has already been filled: Simon Rötter, former manager at Deliveroo, starts as Head of Operations, as he shared on Linkedin

.

Getir started in Istanbul in 2015 and is now valued at 2.2 billion euros. Just at the end of March, Getir raised 250 million euros from investors in a Series C funding round, and 100 million euros in a Series B round in January.
