Gorillas apparently wants to discontinue Spain business

Just recently, the delivery service laid off hundreds of employees in Germany. Now it is hitting employees in Spain as well.
Gorillas was previously active in the Spanish cities of Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Barcelona. Now, according to media reports, the delivery service is to withdraw from the Spanish market. According to the report, all operating sites and warehouses are to be closed in the near future.
Just recently, the Berlin-based delivery service announced it would cut hundreds of administrative jobs. The start-up said it wanted to review strategic options for the business in Spain, Italy, Denmark and Belgium. For the Spanish business, this now apparently means the end. According to the Gründerszene 300 Spanish employees will lose their jobs. Accordingly, Gorillas is said to have initiated legal proceedings on June 15 to review the job cuts.
Gorillas wants to focus more on Germany, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and the USA in the future, as these countries account for 90 percent of its business. Whether Gorillas will now also withdraw from Italy, Denmark and Belgium is still unclear.
