Deloitte is looking for new ideas in aerospace technology. Teams that qualify will receive exclusive access to space technology data.

For the first time, the "Gravity Challenge" is taking place in Germany. Together with twelve partners, including Nasa Harvest, Lufthansa Technik and the city of Aachen, Deloitte is organizing the event. Teams from science, business and the start-up scene in Germany, France, Luxembourg, Great Britain, USA, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Australia as well as Japan may apply.

The incentive for the teams is exclusive access to space technology data. 20 experts are to guide the selection of solutions and moderate between the teams. There will be 16 tasks, with five teams selected for each. Starting in September 2021, one team will go into implementation with their respective company. Deloitte hosted the first Gravity Challenge in Australia in 2019.

"Open networks and diverse thinking are fundamental to innovative solutions," says Egbert Wege, Consulting Partner at Deloitte. "With the Gravity Challenge, we are now bringing a globally networked innovation platform to Germany, with which we have successfully promoted new approaches in other countries."

The other partners also have goals. Nasa Harvest is looking for technology-based solutions to correctly identify agricultural land with associated crops on satellite imagery. Lufthansa Technik wants to improve Internet connectivity on passenger planes, and the city of Aachen wants to optimize inner-city traffic flow to reduce emissions.
