Hausgold raises ten million euros

The Hamburg-based competitor to McMakler has completed its financing round. Martin Blessing, former head of Commerzbank, is also involved.
Hausgold provides sellers of real estate with suitable estate agents on site and supports them with digital tools. The Hamburg-based company has now raised ten million euros in a recent financing round. The founders want to use the money, which is expected to last until 2023, to expand their team. They also want to introduce new services such as insurance for house purchases. Turnover is set to almost double in the coming year, says founder Sebastian Wagner. The start-up aims to be profitable by 2023.
Half of the current round consists of bank loans, while the other half comes from investors such as former Commerzbank CEO Martin Blessing and his partners. "I am delighted to be able to follow the future development of the company from the perspective of a shareholder," Blessing told the Handelsblatt.
Wagner founded the real estate start-up in 2014, with Rocket Internet and Hanseventures among the first investors. The start-up shares the commission with the estate agents and has so far turned over 40 million euros per year in estate agent commission. In 2018, Deutsche Bank joined the Hamburg-based company as an investor and partner, and the two companies' offerings are still linked to this day.
