3rd episode of The Lion's Den Record-breaking founder, tofu beat and toilet revolution

In the third episode of Die Höhle der Löwen (airing on September 8 at 8:15 pm on VOX), viewers can expect a special mix of emotion, innovation and entertainment. A 98-year-old founder makes history, a DJ transforms the cave into a dance floor and several lions battle it out for a high-tech product for the toilet.
STEETS: The oldest founder in the show's history
At the age of 98, Heinz Schlechtingen from Paderborn competes together with his grandson and two co-founders. Their idea STEETS: a practical solution for placing walking aids in a stable position. Small feet fold out with a flick of the wrist, promising more safety and independence in everyday life. The lions are impressed by the charming presentation & elegant technology and discuss the company valuation in depth.
krydda: Seasoning for tofu
Founder Arne Engelke (29) sets the mood in the cave right from the start: he plays a DJ set before presenting his tofu finisher. The instant marinade powder is intended to bring new flavors to tofu, from "Tuscany breeze" to "desert magic". He is looking for a deal with 75,000 euros for 20 percent of the company shares.
FlaveAir: enjoyment without smoke and sugar
With the FlaveAir stick, founders Nils Stögbauer (46) and Randolph Skrok (53) want to offer an alternative to sweets, cigarettes and vapes. Over 40 natural flavors, completely without nicotine or calories, are intended to open up a new pleasure segment. While some lions see potential, others express concerns about the target group approach.
AIR CUBE: toilet hygiene rethought
The AIR CUBE by Giuseppe Leo (30) addresses another everyday problem, namely unpleasant odors in the toilet. The device extracts odors directly and also eliminates germs with the help of ions. The presentation is convincing; several lions want to get on board and engage in an intense exchange of blows.
MUVN: transportation sharing for objects
Founders Katharina Kreutzer, Massimo Sabatino and Emre Aydin present MUVN, a marketplace for carpooling items. Anyone with space in their car can take on transportation for others. The aim is to save costs and reduce CO₂ emissions, among other things. The lions are checking whether the model offers sufficient scaling potential. Katharina Kreutzer is no stranger to the Startbase: just last Friday we had her in the lead in our Startupnews for the weekend and in 2023 we reported on a successful pre-seed for Boomerang, in which she was involved.
