KEMARO secures USD 5 million in Series B pre-closing
Swiss robotics pioneer KEMARO has successfully completed the first pre-closing of its Series B financing round, raising 5 million US dollars. The company intends to use the fresh capital to significantly accelerate its international expansion and at the same time expand its product portfolio in a targeted manner.
Strong foundation: proven technology and global traction
Since its foundation in 2016, KEMARO has established itself as one of the leading providers of industrial floor cleaning with its flagship product, the K900 autonomous cleaning robot. The focus is on complex, heavily soiled environments such as logistics centers and production facilities. Locations where conventional cleaning systems quickly reach their limits.
The company is starting the next growth phase from a position of strength: over 1,500 robots sold to more than 600 industrial customers worldwide speaks for itself. Customers include global corporations such as Unilever, Nestlé, BMW and Amazon, with correspondingly high scaling potential.
Focus on the USA: from test market to growth driver
A central component of the strategy is expansion into the US market. Co-founder Thomas Oberholzer will be relocating to the USA to drive the business forward locally. At the same time, KEMARO has created the operational basis for North America with the founding of KEMARO Inc. and a new location in Atlanta.
In future, the US hub will serve as a hub for sales, customer success and market development. The message is clear: the USA is no longer an experiment, but the next big sales driver.
A decisive competitive advantage here is the "privacy by design" approach: KEMARO robots deliberately do without visual data acquisition and 360° cameras. This is a strong argument in markets where data protection and industrial espionage are increasingly viewed critically.
New fields of application with the K700
In addition to geographical expansion, KEMARO is also investing in the expansion of its portfolio. With the new K700 model, the company is launching a compact solution that is specially designed for smaller industrial areas and lower clearance heights. The K700 is already meeting with high demand ahead of its market launch and complements the K900 to create a scalable fleet solution for a wide range of industrial environments.
Scaling up to 10,000 robots
With a total target of 20 million US dollars for the Series B round, KEMARO intends to consistently pursue its growth strategy. In the coming years, the company plans to install up to 10,000 robots in Europe and the USA.
The funds will primarily be used for the expansion of sales and go-to-market structures, international expansion and continuous product innovation.
KEMARO shows how specialized robotics solutions from Europe can be scaled globally: with a clear focus on real industrial problems, a well thought-out product strategy and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements. The current financing round is not so much a starting point - but the next logical step on the path to international market leadership.
