Kneipp cooperates with start-up Rezemo

The start-up actually develops coffee capsules made of wood. Now it will work together with the cosmetics manufacturer on plastic-free packaging for personal care products.
Just recently, cosmetics company Kneipp announced its new collaboration with start-up Circleback to introduce a deposit system for cosmetics packaging. Now the company has already chosen the next start-up to pursue its sustainability goals. Kneipp will from now on be working with start-up Rezemo, which has so far developed biodegradable coffee capsules. With these, the company aims to switch to plastic-free packaging by the end of 2025.
Julian Reitze and Stefan Zender founded Rezemo in 2014. The company says it sells sustainable coffee capsules made from wood fibers and manufactured from by-products such as sawdust. This material is to be used for the first time at Kneipp in September. The challenge of the collaboration, it says, is to take packaging that has been used for dry products such as coffee and use it for liquid products. "If we succeed in this, we will have real leverage that can give an enormous boost to the sustainable development of the entire industry," says founder Reitze.
