Co-founder Cornelius Patt leaves Zooplus

After 23 years, Patt is now leaving the company he co-founded. A successor has not yet been named.

Zooplus CEO Cornelius Patt will leave the company he founded after a transitional year, according to the start-up's own announcement. Until a successor is found for him, Patt will continue as managing director of the online pet supply company. The Zooplus supervisory board and Patt decided on the move by mutual agreement.

Patt co-founded Zooplus in 1999 and had served as managing director since 2006. "After spending nearly 23 years building Zooplus into the successful company it is today, the time is right for me to pass the baton," Patt said. "With its outstanding team, two top-notch shareholders and the dynamic growth of the pet e-commerce market, Zooplus' future looks brighter than ever." The new business figures for 2021 also point to growth, with Zooplus' total revenue growing by 286 million to a total of around 2.1 billion euros.

Nevertheless, Zooplus hadwithdrawn from the stock exchange at the beginning of the year after more than 13 years. The portal Exciting Commerce sees Patts resignation also in the stock exchange exit justified. According to the portal, the new owners of Zooplus wanted to exploit market opportunities more consistently.
