Schüttflix wins NRW start-up prize

140 companies applied for this year's NRW Founder's Prize and now the three winners have been chosen. On Monday, NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Andreas Pinkwart awarded the prizes, which are endowed with up to 30,000 euros.
On Monday, NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Andreas Pinkwart (FDP) named the Gütersloh start-up Schüttflix the winner of this year's Founder Award of the federal state. "Schüttflix has succeeded impressively in simplifying complex processes in the construction industry with digital applications, thus ensuring greater efficiency and sustainability," said Pinkwart according to WDR. Founded in 2018, the start-up offers an app for suppliers of sand, gravel and crushed stone that transporters and buyers can organize via Schüttflix. The Gütersloh-based company only raised 50 million US dollars in September.
The winner of the start-up prize receives 30,000 euros, with a total of 60,000 euros being awarded. Second place went to Dermanostic from Düsseldorf, which operates as an online dermatology practice. Customers can use an app to send in pictures of their skin problems, which are then assessed by a team of doctors. The start-up receives 20,000 euros.
Third place, worth 10,000 euros, went to Hörgeräte Manufaktur from Bad Honnef, which offers customized and highly technological hearing aids. During the coronavirus pandemic, the company specialized in remote fitting using hearing aid software.
