Multiverse Computing Plans a 500-Million-Euro Funding Round for Efficient AI
The Spanish AI company Multiverse Computing has announced the launch of a Series C funding round of up to 500 million euros (570 million U.S. dollars). The round values the company at 1.5 billion euros on a pre-money basis, making Multiverse Computing a unicorn. The financing is led by Forgepoint Capital International, BNPP Solar Impulse Venture Fund, and Bullhound Capital.
Other investors include Santander Alternative Investments, Tikehau Capital, HP Inc., Orange Ventures, Scania Invest, NAventures, Qatar Development Bank, Zouk Capital, SETT, the EIC Fund, the Basque Government’s Hazten Scale-Up Fund, and Kutxa Fundazioa. The funding round is being advised by JP Morgan and Santander CIB.
AI Models Up to 95 Percent Smaller
With CompactifAI, Multiverse Computing is developing a technology that compresses large AI models using mathematical methods from quantum physics. According to the company, this allows large language models to be reduced in size by up to 80 to 95 percent without any significant loss of accuracy.
The result is AI models that require significantly less computing power and can be run on smartphones, edge devices, enterprise data centers, or traditional cloud environments. In doing so, the company is addressing one of the biggest challenges of the current AI wave: the enormous demand for computing power and energy.
Growth Has Accelerated Significantly Since the Last Funding Round
Startbase had already reported on Multiverse Computing’s Series B funding via Newscircle in June 2025. Since then, the company has significantly accelerated its growth. According to the company, annualized revenue has increased more than tenfold, while revenue in the first quarter of 2026 rose 96-fold compared to the previous year.
Today, the compressed AI models are already being used in millions of devices—including drones, cameras, satellites, vehicles, and telecommunications infrastructure. In the future, they are also set to be integrated into AI PCs.
International Expansion and Sovereign AI
Multiverse Computing plans to use the capital to expand its research into efficient AI models, further develop software for so-called AI factories, and invest in the development of sovereign AI infrastructures. The company also plans to strengthen its presence in North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.
The company’s clients already include international corporations such as Bosch, Allianz, Telefónica, Iberdrola, PwC, and the Bank of Canada.
Europe is Focusing on Energy-Efficient AI
While many AI providers are focusing on ever-larger models and data centers, Multiverse Computing is taking the opposite approach: highly compressed models are intended to enable powerful AI applications even with significantly lower energy consumption. In doing so, the company is positioning itself at the intersection of artificial intelligence, quantum algorithms, and sustainable IT infrastructure.
