Here's how this year's Journey to Diversity plays out

18 categories and 18 prizes - in September, Germany's most important prize for women in the digital scene will once again be awarded.

Award (DFLA) will take place. It is the most important prize in the female digital scene for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On October 1, the big closing event will take place in the Gartenhalle in Karlsruhe. This year there are around 750 female applicants and nominees from 37 countries.

This year's DFLA has 18 categories, including some new ones like Beauty & Lifestyle, Civil Rights & Politics or Future of Energy. There will be three finalists in each category and the winner will be announced during the Journey to Diversity. During the Journey to Diversity, the awards will also be presented to the winners.

The German start-up landscape is still hardly diverse. Just 16 percent of founders are female. The DFLA, an initiative of Global Digital Woman, aims to honor women in the digital economy who are pioneers in their field. We want to "make visible and tell the stories and career paths of women," according to the award's page.
