Thomas Völker joins Whitebox

The former Moneyfarm manager will now be Chief Product Officer at the digital wealth advisory firm.
"I am returning to my roots in the financial industry and am enormously excited to be able to join the team at Whitebox as Chief Product Officer," Thomas Völker announced on Linkedin announced. The manager was previously responsible for Moneyfarm's German business, which was shut down again for strategic reasons. Now he starts as Chief Product Officer at Whitebox.
Völker said he decided to join Whitebox because the firm is "an absolute hidden champion" in the industry. "A lot of deep expertise, high-performing individuals without egomania. No rock stars because no noise, but real professionals who prioritized product and customers far ahead of marketing and PR," is how the manager assesses the Freiburg-based fintech.
Salome Preiswerk and Birte Rothkopf founded the robo advisor Whitebox in 2014. The start-up's business model consists of digital investment advice supplemented by services such as pension solutions. Whitebox aims to focus primarily on undervalued asset classes and says it strives to optimize client portfolios based on insights from financial market research. Asset management is available from an investment volume of 25 euros, it said.
