Trade Republic creates 250 new IT jobs

The start-up is opening a new office in Sweden for this purpose. The trading provider also appoints two new managing directors.

Berlin and Düsseldorf-based online broker Trade Republic has announced plans to create 250 new IT jobs. The start-up is also opening a new office in Stockholm to serve as a "tech hub." According to the company, all advertised positions are available there.

The new employees will also be able to work from home. In this way, the start-up hopes to attract applicants from all over the world. Trade Republic explains that it is offering the positions in the areas of "front-end, back-end, core infrastructure and data." They would be open to applicants of all experience levels.

"Stockholm is one of the most important tech hubs in Europe and as such attracts the best developers," says founder Christian Hecker. "Our Vice-President of Engineering, Jan Plasberg, will lead the site, working with his team on new products and developing the infrastructure." And there's another new addition: financial experts Andreas Torner and Gernot Mittendorfer will become new managing directors at Trade Republic. Previously, Andreas Willius and Karsten Müller held this position.

Trade Republic is active in six European countries. The start-up has already received nearly one billion US dollars from tech investors such as Sequoia, Founders Fund, Accel, TCV and Stockholm-based investor Creandum. Trade Republic is a securities trading bank licensed in Germany and supervised by the Bundesbank and BaFin. The company was founded in 2015 by Christian Hecker, Thomas Pischke and Marco Cancellieri. It says it reaches more than 250 million people in six European countries.
