TUM IDEAward 2023: Award for sustainable startup ideas

IONSELECT wins with a new method for real-time measurement of nutrient content in fertilizers. A time-saving innovation for farmers.

Munich - The winners of the TUM IDEAwards, an award for sustainable start-up ideas, have been announced. Three promising concepts received recognition for their potential positive impact in the tech world. The event attracted ten start-up teams who presented their ideas to an enthusiastic audience. Notable was the increased presence of female founders, who made up more than half of the final teams for the first time.

The prizes were awarded by institutions such as the Technical University of Munich (TUM), UnternehmerTUM and the Zeidler Research Foundation. The winners received prize money totaling 37,500 euros as well as individual coaching from the TUM start-up consultancy until market entry.

IONSELECT in first place

The IONSELECT team responded to stricter guidelines for the use of liquid manure in agriculture. Their tool aims to measure the nutrient content of fertilizers in real time.

Airgae and Muniqo Performante in the other places

Airgae's vision is to develop a low-cost bioreactor that produces microalgae for fish farming while improving the environmental footprint of aquaculture.

Muniqo Performante focuses on the development of magnetic shock absorbers that not only provide comfort while driving, but can also increase energy efficiency and recover kinetic energy.
