Sales and losses at Blinkist grow

The start-up has focused on summarizing books. This is apparently attracting more and more users.

The Berlin-based non-fiction start-up has presented its figures for 2019. According to the figures, the start-up was able to increase its revenue to 33 million euros, 13 million euros more than in the previous year. But whether this is a reason to celebrate? The loss of the still young company has also increased. According to the annual report, the annual loss amounted to ten million euros, one million euros more than in 2018.

The start-up Blinkist earns its money by summarizing non-fiction books. In a smartphone app, users should thus be able to grasp the content in a few minutes without having to slog through hundreds of pages, of which perhaps only a fraction really interests them. The company officially offers 4500 books and currently has 17 million registered users.
