About You exceeds one billion euros in sales for the first time

The fashion retailer thus sets a record. In the fourth quarter, the start-up also operated profitably for the first time.
Hamburg-based fashion mail order company About You looks back on a successful 2020/2021 financial year. The company expanded into 13 new markets and generated net sales of more than a 1.17 billion euros. In the previous year, sales amounted to 743 million euros. The adjusted EBITDA margin was three percent.
The fourth quarter was profitable for the first time, primarily due to increased per capita revenue, lower customer acquisition costs and improved operating performance. "This underscores the tremendous potential of our business model. We aim to build the best digital fashion destination for Generations Y and Z. Our strong business results for 2020/21 underline how far we have already come on this path," commented Tarek Müller, Co-Founder and Board Member Marketing & Brand.
About You was founded in 2014 as a subsidiary of the Otto Group, is active in 30 European countries and counts more than 30 million active users. "We want to develop further markets, with a particular focus on Southern Europe and the Nordic countries," announced Hannes Wiese, co-founder and board member Operations & Finance.
