Wiwin appoints René Theis as second managing director

In his new position, Theis will be responsible for Finance, Operations, IT and HR.

René Theis becomes the second Managing Director of the crowdinvesting platform Wiwin. He has now been managing the company together with Wiwin founder and CEO Matthias Willenbacher since January 1.

Prior to his current position, Theis was head of overall bank management at PSD Bank West. There, he was responsible for the finance division, the bank's digital transformation and ensuring that the bank met regulatory requirements. Now, as Wiwin's second managing director, he will be responsible for finance, operations, IT and HR.

"We want to give as many people as possible the chance to become actively involved in the sustainability turnaround," says Theis. Founded in 2016, the crowdinvesting platform arranges capital in the areas of renewable energies, energy-efficient real estate and sustainable start-ups and medium-sized companies. In 2022, the platform's investment volume was around 29 million euros. "Especially in the field of renewable energies, crowdinvesting is an important lever to ensure that as many exciting projects as possible can be put directly into action as quickly as possible," says Theis.
