Workpath wins top managers from the competition

The start-up recruits managers from Celonis and Contentful - two German start-ups valued in the billions.

The Munich-based start-up Workpath has recruited two experienced managers to its management team: Jakob Huhn and Pia Vieregge. Huhn is now the new Vice President of Sales. From 2013 to 2018, he built up Amazon's "AWS SME" sales team in Europe. Most recently, he held the title of "Head of Sales EMEA" at the Berlin start-up Contentful, which is now valued at over three billion euros. At Contentful, he developed the sales team and, according to Workpath, played a key role in the company's success.

Vieregge, meanwhile, will become Head of Human Resources. The graduate of Kingston University in London was previously "Director People Programs" at the German start-up Celonis. This is currently valued at eleven billion euros, making it the most valuable German unicorn. Under her leadership, her team was able to hire more than 600 new employees.

Workpath uses the so-called OKR method, which was once made famous by Google. This stands for "Objectives and Key Results" and is intended to help with the management of digital companies. According to the company, it is the market leader in Europe for outcome management and OKR. The company has developed a tool to support companies in managing their own objectives that serve the strategy. Based on OKR and other methods, companies can visualize their goals for their employees. The interdependencies between the targets should enable them to identify and eliminate potential bottlenecks at an early stage. According to the company, more than 30 percent of DAX companies, including E.ON, and other large companies such as DB Schenker, Metro and Bosch are already using the tool.
