200 Berlin students celebrate illegal party in Wisemarkt warehouse

Wisemarkt moved into its warehouse in Birkenwerder just two weeks ago. Now, according to a media report, students have chosen the site as a party location - and vandalized the toilets in the process.
According to reports from Gründerszene around 200 students held an illegal party at the Wisemarkt warehouse in Birkenwerder on Sunday night. The police broke up the party in the start-up's toilets. Reports in the local press speak of a rave or a fetish party.
On LinkedIn, Wisemarkt founder and CEO Christian Wegner humorously describes how his team found the situation: "Monday morning at 6 a.m., we noticed that something was wrong in our toilet facilities in Birkenwerder. A lot broken. A bad smell. Empty pizza boxes. Empty bottles. And a little further away, a couple of guys loading the last few boxes into a car." The site manager then approached the men and got the phone number of the party organizer from them. He later apologized and promised to repair the damage by the end of the week, Wegner told Gründerszene.
Just two weeks ago, the start-up moved into its new warehouse location in Birkenwerder and renovated the toilets at its own expense. The start-up is active in re-commerce and has been in existence since 2020. The Wisemarkt platform went online in August 2021.
