Penta's current financing round grows to 30 million euros

Just two weeks ago, it was announced that the former Head of Digital at Deutsche Bank was joining Penta. Now the start-up has expanded its current financing round to 30 million euros.

Another seven million euros have been added, bringing fintech Penta's Series B financing round to 30 million euros. The round is led by ABN Amro Ventures and also includes existing investors such as Finleap, HV Capital, RTP Global, Presight Capital S7V and VR Ventures.

The online business bank Penta has been offering business accounts for all types of companies for three years and now has over 25,000 customers. It was only at the beginning of February that it was announced that the former head of digital at Deutsche Bank, Markus Pertlwieser, was joining Penta. The new CEO is delighted with the latest round and announced "investments in further growth and partnerships" to Handelsblatt.

Penta has been part of fintech incubator Finleap since 2019. Including the current round, the Berlin-based fintech was able to raise 47 million euros. Competition is tough, which is why Penta is trying to score points through partnerships. These include, for example, one with a Datev marketplace, which customers can use to synchronize their receipts with their account, or one with the fintech Banxware, which customers can use to apply for quick loans from KfW.
