Current financing round of Penta grows to 30 million euros
Just two weeks ago, it was announced that the former head of digital at Deutsche Bank was joining Penta. Now the start-up has been able to expand its current financing round to 30 million euros.
Adding another seven million euros, fintech Penta has raised its Series B funding round to 30 million euros. The round is led by ABN Amro Ventures, with existing investors including Finleap, HV Capital, RTP Global, Presight Capital S7V and VR Ventures also joining in.
Online business bank Penta has been offering business accounts for all forms of businesses for the past three years, and now has over 25,000 customers. It was only announced at the beginning of February that the former head of digital at Deutsche Bank, Markus Pertlwieser, was joining Penta. The new CEO is excited about the latest round and announced to Handelsblatt "investments in further growth and partnerships".
Penta has been part of fintech incubator Finleap since 2019. Including the current round, the Berlin-based fintech raised €47 million. Competition is fierce, which is why Penta is trying to score points through collaborations. These include, for example, one with a Datev marketplace, through which customers can synchronize their receipts with their account, or one with the fintech Banxware, through which customers can apply for quick loans from KfW.
