Expansion of the partnership between Lieferando and MediaMarktSaturn

Increased cooperation to offer express deliveries of electronic items. Customers in Berlin can now choose from over 1,000 items and receive deliveries within 40-60 minutes

Berlin, October 20, 2023 - MediaMarktSaturn and Lieferando are continuing their partnership and expanding their express deliveries for electronics items. Since May 2023, the delivery service in Berlin has enabled the delivery of orderable technology products in around 35 minutes. This service is now offered from the stores and includes a selection of over 1,000 items. Customers can order via the Lieferando app or website and the delivery time varies between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the store and distance. In the coming weeks, this service will be available to the same extent in Dresden and Leipzig, with more cities in the pipeline.

Expanding the partnership with MediaMarktSaturn to this extent shortly before the start of the high-demand Christmas season is strategically important and also a great success that shows that the demand is there and that we can scale express deliveries for non-food items quickly and well.

The product selection has been expanded considerably and now includes over 1,000 items, including cell phone and computer accessories as well as gadgets in the areas of games consoles, audio and home entertainment and household items. New items added in response to customer requests during the Berlin pilot phase range from smartphones and laptops to baby monitors and espresso machines.

Express delivery will be prepared by store staff and delivery prices will be based on store prices, plus a service charge of €0.99. In neighboring districts, delivery is offered free of charge, while charges of between €1.49 and €4.99 apply for further distances.

The service is currently available in five stores in Berlin:

• MediaMarkt Berlin-Mitte in Alexa
• MediaMarkt Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg (corner of Ostseestraße)
• MediaMarkt Berlin-Neukölln in the Neukölln-Arcaden
• Saturn Berlin Europa-Center
• MediaMarkt Berlin-Steglitz in the palace

Christmas business is the declared goal

The expansion of this partnership between MediaMarktSaturn and Lieferando is aimed at expanding express delivery for electronic products and is primarily geared towards the upcoming Christmas business. Lieferando Managing Director Katharina Hauke emphasizes the strategic importance of this cooperation and is looking forward to the continuation of express deliveries for non-food items.
