BayBG invests five million euros in ChargeOne

150,000 charging points to be installed by 2030. BayBG investment serves to expand capacity.
ChargeOne is expanding its offering for companies that need a charging infrastructure for their employees, customers, guests or suppliers. The company, a brand of the long-established Claus Heinemann Elektroanlagen GmbH, has specialized in e-mobility solutions since 2021 and offers commercial customers a variety of options, from classic purchase to flexible rental models, known as "Charging as a Service".
The number of charging points is lagging behind the increasing number of registered electric cars, and there is a need to expand the infrastructure.
Markus Krepek, Investment Manager BayBG
The strong growth of ChargeOne is being driven forward with the support of BayBG. In the latest financing round, BayBG invested five million euros in the holding company. This investment enables ChargeOne to expand its capacities and further strengthen its position in the market. ChargeOne operates independently of the manufacturers of wallboxes and fast chargers and can therefore select the right concept for the individual needs of its customers. This makes the offer particularly attractive for hotels, leisure and cultural facilities, shopping centers and property management companies that want to expand their services with a charging infrastructure.
Some well-known companies have already opted for ChargeOne's services, including SIXT and B&B Hotels. In July 2022, ChargeOne received a major order from SIXT to install more than 1,000 charging points at SIXT stations in the DACH region by the end of 2023 and to take over operation and service in the future.
The increasing demand for electric cars in Germany is another driver for the company's business. At the end of 2022, the number of electric cars exceeded the one million mark for the first time, as reported by the Federal Motor Transport Authority. On January 1, 2023, around 1.01 million electric vehicles and around 865,000 plug-in hybrid cars were registered. In contrast, there were only 80,541 public charging stations in Germany at that time, according to the Federal Network Agency.
We are delighted that BayBG is accompanying us into the future and supporting our ambitious goal: We want to be one of the leading German charging infrastructure operators with 150,000 installed charging points by 2030
Robert Klug, CEO of heinemann Group SE
ChargeOne's expansion and the provision of customized charging solutions for companies are helping to expand the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany and meet the growing demand. With the support of BayBG and a large number of customers, ChargeOne is positioning itself as a reliable partner for companies that need an efficient and reliable charging infrastructure.
With its e-mobility business field ChargeOne, the electrical specialist Heinemann is very well positioned and fits well into our investment profile with its convincing strategic orientation.
Peter Herreiner, Managing Director BayBG

ChargeOne offers commercial customers a complete service for the installation and operation of charging infrastructure with flexible charging-as-a-service models, as well as attractive rental and purchase models. In 2021, Claus Heinemann achieved a total operating performance of around 51 million euros.
