Actually, the appointment as Germany's start-up envoy was not to be announced until the next two weeks. Now, Green Party member of the Bundestag Anna Christmann is to take over the post.

According to insider information from Capital Anna Christmann is to become the new startup representative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, which reports to Robert Habeck. So far, however, the ministry and the Green Party member of the Bundestag have not confirmed the rumors.

Anna Christmann was recently given the post of the German government's aerospace coordinator. Members of parliament in this position in the Federal Republic also take on the role of startup commissioner, at least that was the case with Christmann's predecessor, CDU politician Thomas Jarzombek.

Christmann has been a member of the German Bundestag for the Stuttgart 2 constituency since 2017. In the last legislative period, she was spokesperson for innovation and technology policy and spokesperson for civic engagement. From 2018 to 2020, she was also a member of the Enquete Commission on Artificial Intelligence. The Green politician holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Bern.
