The MediaTech Hub Potsdam will have five

The MediaTech Hub Potsdam celebrates its fifth anniversary. Strengthened and supported by the numerous well-established players in the film, media and tech community, it has also made a name for itself as a contact point for innovative startups within five years.

Potsdam - This week, the entire MTH community met to celebrate, exchange ideas and network in the atrium of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. In addition, various representatives of the nationwide Digital Hub Initiative were present. Potsdam's mayor, Mike Schubert, praised the work of the MediaTech Hub in his welcoming speech: "The MediaTech Hub Potsdam helps to bring forth lighthouse technologies and strong startups that have innovative power and strengthen the international importance and visibility of Potsdam and Babelsberg as a media location." A special highlight of the evening was the pop-up MediaTech Experience, where various startups as well as projects of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF made their innovations tangible for the guests.

Volucap makes films walkable

With Volucap, we have high-tech at the start on the Studio Babelsberg site. Using innovative 3D technology, Volucap creates digital avatars whose volumetric videos are world leaders in resolution. The technology has been used in international productions such as The Matrix Resurrections and the Netflix series 1899. At the anniversary celebration of MediaTech Hub Potsdam, the team around founder Sven Bliedung von der Heide presented some of its highlights. Visitors:inside could experience the High-Resolution Volucaps of BMX World Champion Matthias Dandois and others.

Behind the paywall with Snaque Playwall

Snaque wants to give more people access to quality content on the Internet. The visitors tested live how readers can use Snaque to activate individual paid articles without subscriptions. The startup makes it possible to read articles free of charge via the Snaque Playwall by interacting with brand content. The founding team, consisting of Katja Waldor and Henning Tillmann, is thus also focusing on the issue of free opinion formation and the question of democracy.

Diving into new worlds - 2Sync connects real and virtual worlds

2Sync develops tools for tomorrow's Extended Reality: The 2Sync software development platform enables the development of novel, innovative and immersive Mixed Reality experiences that automatically connect real and virtual worlds while adapting to the user's environment. As a result, visitors to the 2Sync booth were able to immerse themselves in entirely new worlds and, for example, were in the zoo without ever leaving the real world. The team around Moritz Loos and Julian Zietemann transformed the event location with all its objects into a virtual and immersive world, which the test persons could discover playfully through movement and interaction.

Sensit! makes music, games and movies tangible

Sensit! enables its users not only to see and hear games, music and films, but also to feel them through targeted vibrations. By integrating the sense of touch via Haptic Feedback, the team around founder Benjamin Heese creates a new dimension of the entertainment experience. The integration of the globally patented Metahaptics technology significantly increases the added value and, above all, the emotionality of a wide range of products... At the Sensit! booth, visitors experienced the Gaming Chair, which provides haptic feedback in line with the gameplay, allowing users to immerse themselves in the world of gaming.

In the future, too, innovative potentials are to be further developed, which above all pay off on the common hub idea as well as promote and strengthen entrepreneurship and innovation.

Key milestones of the last 5 years Among the most important developments of the MediaTech Hub are lighthouse projects such as the MediaTech Hub Space in the UFA or the MediaTech Hub Accelerator, initiated by the University of Potsdam, the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF with around 40 startups in its portfolio, which have acquired more than 20 million euros of investment to date. The MediaTech Hub Conference is Germany's leading B2B event for media technologies and inspires hundreds of international participants every year with forward-looking tech trends and best practices - this year's edition on September 27 and 28 also promises many highlights with a focus on film, TV & streaming. The city offers young companies an international scientific community as well as excellent research institutions and universities.
