This start-up fights against traffic jams

Intelligent route planning and an individual route for each car by evaluating real-time data: This is what the start-up Graphmasters promises. Lower Saxony is now using the young company's app.
Anyone who owns a car will have experienced the following scenario: you want to avoid a traffic jam using the alternative route provided by the sat nav and end up in the next traffic jam because all the other drivers have also been directed there. Lower Saxony and the start-up Graphmaster now believe they have found a solution to this problem, which goes by the name of NUNAV: the app evaluates traffic data in real time, develops an individual route for the best and fastest route for each car and shares it with the driver via the app. The route is optimized every 15 seconds, says the start-up Graphmasters, which developed the algorithm. The functionality was tested at a Helene Fischer concert in Hanover, for example, and is now going live in Lower Saxony.
"This allows us to make optimum use of the existing traffic infrastructure and increase safety on our roads," says Lower Saxony's Transport Minister Bernd Althusmann. The President of the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport also sees the potential for modern and efficient traffic management in the app. So far, Lower Saxony is the only federal state to use its own traffic data for this purpose. Partners are the Hanover region and the police. Autobahn GmbH has now joined them. The app is free of charge and can be used throughout the German-speaking world.
