FRYTE Mobility Receives 3.5 Million Euros for Electric Truck Charging Platform
The Munich-based startup FRYTE Mobility has closed a seed funding round totaling 3.5 million euros. The round was led by 4impact capital and Rethink Ventures. Existing investors Revent, F-LOG, and accilium ventures, as well as several business angels, also participated. In total, the company has raised 5 million euros to date. The capital will primarily be used to scale the platform across Europe, which connects logistics and charging systems for electric trucks.
Charging to Become Part of Route Planning
FRYTE Mobility addresses a challenge that is becoming increasingly important with the growing electrification of heavy-duty transportation: An electric truck not only needs an available charging station but must also reach it at the right time and in line with its planned route. Until now, these two aspects have often been planned separately. Transportation management systems create routes without having a complete overview of the available charging infrastructure. At the same time, charging station operators do not have reliable information about which trucks will arrive when and how much energy they will need.
Software Connects Logistics and Charging Infrastructure
The open platform connects transportation management systems with the management systems of charging station operators. To do this, FRYTE uses, among other things, the industry standard OCPI.
This is intended to integrate route planning, energy requirements, and available charging infrastructure into a single, end-to-end process. Charging sessions can be reserved in advance, even across different locations and operators. For fleet operators, this is intended to provide greater planning certainty. Charging station operators, in turn, receive early information about when vehicles will arrive and can better plan the utilization of their infrastructure.
More than 200 reservations processed
According to the company, the technology is already in production use at several providers. FRYTE has processed more than 200 reservations via the platform to date. The process ranges from planning by dispatchers through the driver’s actual charging process to confirmation by the charging infrastructure operator.

4impact capital and Rethink Ventures lead the round
The seed round of 3.5 million euros is jointly led by 4impact capital and Rethink Ventures. Existing investors Revent, F-LOG, and accilium ventures are also reinvesting. A group of angel investors is also participating. 4impact capital sees the market for electric trucks at a turning point. Investor Pauline Wink expects that, in the foreseeable future, electric trucks will be able to match diesel vehicles in terms of total cost of ownership in several European markets.
However, as the number of electric trucks grows, so does the need to integrate logistics, charging, and energy systems. This is precisely where FRYTE positions itself as a horizontal coordination layer between the various systems.
Capital Flows into Commercial Scaling
With this fresh capital, FRYTE plans, in particular, to expand its commercial team and bring additional charging station operators and logistics companies onto the platform. At the same time, the company aims to deepen integrations with charging point operators and their backend systems. The company also plans to further develop its reservation functionality.

FRYTE can already point to pilot projects with well-known partners. These include TRATON Charging Solutions with MAN Charge & Go, FIEGE, Fraport, Energie Südbayern, and Dettendorfer Energy. With this funding, the company can now focus on connecting more charging point operators and logistics customers across Europe.
Electric trucks are becoming a challenge for the energy system
As heavy-duty transportation becomes increasingly electrified, energy demand is growing in tandem. Rethink Ventures estimates that electric trucks on European roads could require approximately 45 terawatt-hours of electricity annually by 2035. One of the challenges is installing enough charging stations. Charging times, energy availability, and the operational processes of logistics companies must also be coordinated.
For FRYTE, this presents an opportunity to establish itself early on as an infrastructure platform for electric heavy-duty transportation. The more fleets, charging station operators, and transport management systems are connected, the greater the benefits of a shared coordination layer can become.
With this seed round, the Munich-based startup’s total funding rises to 5 million euros.
