Distribusion closes financing round

The Berlin-based travel marketplace raised 30 million euros. It intends to use this to expand its offering to new regions.

Booking ground transportation can be a complicated process for travelers. To simplify this, Distribusion wants to connect travel brands with transportation providers. The Berlin-based company has now raised 30 million euros for this purpose.

Founded in 2014, Distribusion is a travel tech platform that provides access to various transportation options. The B2B booking platform has a large network of carriers and retailers in the industry and connects global travel brands with hundreds of providers of buses, airport transfers, trains and ferries.

The new funding is expected to bring in additional carriers and new regions, according to Thomas Doering, CEO of Distribision. Further, he says, "We will bring more products to customers' preferred online channels and help promote the most sustainable mode of transportation."

Christopher Steinau, partner at Lightrock, adds, "Distribusion is building the missing piece of infrastructure that is critical to upgrading the ground transportation industry. We are impressed with the unprecedented growth despite strong headwinds from the global pandemic.
