EV charging service provider Service4Charger announces €10m Series A funding round

BP invests €7.5 million in EV charging service provider Service4Charger as part of a €10 million financing round. Service4Charger fills a gap in the market by providing specialized and qualified electrical engineers in Germany.

Bochum - bp ventures invests €7.5 million in Service4Charger GmbH, a Berlin-based company specializing in the design, installation and operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. In total, bp ventures is leading a Series A financing round of 10 million euros, in which the Smart Energy Innovation Fund is also participating with 2.5 million euros. Smart Energy Innovationsfonds is the corporate venture arm of Energie 360°, a Swiss energy provider that invests in sustainable companies in the energy sector.

Service4Charger's "Mobile Heroes," specially trained and digitally equipped electrical engineers, focus on installing and maintaining charging stations for electric cars throughout Germany. They offer various charging scenarios such as charging in fleet depots, at public charging stations and at home. With a team of over 85 employees, Service4Charger is already present in 25 cities in Germany and can operate nationwide from there.

Electric vehicle charging is a key growth driver for bp. The company currently offers 22,000 EV charging points and aims to have over 100,000 charging points worldwide by 2030. In Germany, where bp operates its e-mobility business under the Aral pulse brand, there are already around 1,500 ultrafast charging points across the country. Aral pulse and Service4Charger will work together to help Aral customers plan and install charging point infrastructure. By working together, bp and Service4Charger are well equipped to offer e-charging solutions for the workplace and on the go.

Service4Charger and bp have already been working together on the electrification of Aral pulse customer fleets in Germany since 2022. The two companies plan to further expand their collaboration and have signed a multi-year commercial agreement to expand several thousand charging points over the next few years.

Service4Charger is a company that combines craftsmanship and digitalization to offer e-mobility concepts and full-service solutions from a single source. The company is a certified e-brand company and works exclusively with its own electricians. It was founded by Fabian Paul in December 2019 and has been jointly managed by Fabian Paul and Lucas Althammer since 2021. Service4Charger has permanent locations in Berlin and Ingolstadt and is active from more than 25 locations nationwide.
