Gorillas wants to raise hourly wage to twelve euros

The delivery service anticipates the planned increase in the minimum wage. Instead of 10.50 euros, the drivers are to get twelve euros per hour from January.
Gorillas wants to raise the drivers' wages from 10.50 euros to twelve euros per hour starting in January. The bonus per delivery is also to increase from four to five euros. However, the new hourly wage will initially only apply to the drivers, not to the order pickers in the warehouses.
Gorillas is also approaching employees with another step. The start-up has had public conflicts with them in the past. During month-long strikes in Berlin, the company's drivers demanded, among other things, better equipment for the winter. According to information from Gründerszene and the German Press Agency (dpa), Gorillas now wants to equip its drivers with new winter jackets, gloves, power banks, safety glasses and neck warmers.
It's one of the first new steps the start-up has admitted to taking. It was only a short time ago that the delivery service's employees elected their works council. Gorillas tried unsuccessfully to fight the election with an emergency motion.
