The start-up develops photorealistic 3D ecosystems for movies and video games. This is now also convincing investors.

Graswald has raised €1.25 million in capital in a seed funding round, as the VentureCapital Magazine reports. According to the report, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Lakestar have invested in the company. Business angels are also said to have invested in the startup.

Julius Harling founded the company in 2021. Graswald develops digital nature for films, series, video games, animations and product visualizations. Customers can access a collection of digital plants and assemble a landscape in a short time. According to Graswald, the digital plants are reviewed by a biologist to look as realistic and natural as possible. "Through our ecosystem approach and automated production pipeline, we enable 3D world creation within minutes instead of weeks," Harling is quoted as saying in the VentureCapital Magazine quoted.

The digital ecosystem is aimed at both corporate customers and individual users. By its own account, Graswald has more than 15,000 users. The startup's vision, it says, is to develop photorealistic plants for the metaverse in the future.
