Hans-Georg Härter, former CEO of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, and former McKinsey partner Philipp Härle, join the company.

The Augsburg-based hydrogen producer establishes an advisory board and staffs it with Hans-Georg Härter and Philipp Härle. Previously, Härter was CEO of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Härle was a McKinsey partner. The two managers will help the start-up find strategic investors and accompany it on its way to industrial production.

"I am convinced that the sustainable production of green hydrogen will become established. It is important for Germany as a business location that companies like Green Hydrogen Technology are successful with their innovative strength," Härter says of the start-up. Green Hydrogen Technology plans to add more members to its advisory board in the coming months.

Harald Mayer, Benedict Barth and Alfred Edlinger founded the Augsburg-based start-up in 2020. The founders are developing a process to produce CO2-neutral hydrogen from sewage sludge and plastic waste. Currently, the start-up is realizing a test plant in Leoben, Austria, which should produce green hydrogen from mid-2022. The company is now aiming to become a stock corporation. In the future, Härter and Härle will then act as supervisory board members.
