Hamburg elects three female founders as Starter 2021

There were 150 female founders to choose from in a competition in Hamburg. In the end, Yesica Rios from Jobmatch.me, Madeleine von Hohenthal from Bracenet and Britta Wiebe with Vulvani came out on top. They can now all call themselves "Starter 2021".
There are still far fewer women than men founding start-ups in Germany, as the Female Founders Report from Startbase shows. One way to change this is to make role models visible. Hamburg Startups has set itself this task with its "Starterin Hamburg 2021" competition and honored female founders and their start-ups in three categories.
Yesica Rios from Jobmatch.me won the tech category. The start-up brings non-academic specialists together with employers.
In the Commerce category, Madeleine von Hohenthal won with her start-up Bracenet, which produces new products such as dog leashes and bracelets from old fishing nets, which account for a large proportion of plastic pollution in the oceans.
The third winner only founded her start-up at the beginning of this year: Britta Wiebe uses her educational platform Vulvani to educate people about menstruation, sexuality and female health in order to remove the taboos surrounding these topics.
