Decarbonizing the transport sector - with this vision, the start-up was able to attract new investors in its current financing round.

The Wiesbaden-based start-up Hy2gen has received 200 million euros in a current financing round. Hy24, Mirova, CDPQ and Technip Energies are investing in the process. According to the company, this is the largest private investment in green hydrogen to date. The company plans to use the new capital to build facilities that produce hydrogen-based fuels, which can then be used for maritime, land transport, aviation and industrial applications.

Hy2gen, founded in 2017, is based in Wiesbaden, Germany. The start-up sees itself as a pioneer in the field of green hydrogen. The company's goal is to operate plants worldwide for the production of green hydrogen and hydrogen-based e-fuels. The first plants will be built in Germany, France, Norway, Canada and the United States.

"Back in 2021, we were looking for the best possible combination of financial and strategic investors to build e-fuels production plants. These have the potential to decarbonize entire industries and transport sectors. We are now very pleased that all parties have sealed the largest investment in this segment," commented Cyril Dufau-Sansot, CEO of Hy2gen, on the investment.
