Juan Rodriguez and Stefan Schütze leave Finlab

The reason for this is a realignment of the investor. However, the two board members will remain in the Finlab cosmos.
The two board members Juan Rodriguez and Stefan Schütze will be released from their duties at Finlab AG at the end of the month. This was announced by the company in a press release. The Supervisory Board decided on their departure "in agreement with the Management Board". "I would like to thank the Management Board team Juan Rodriguez and Stefan Schütze for their successful work," said Supervisory Board Chairman Axel Benkner. "They leave behind a very well-positioned and financially sound company. Both are closely linked to Finlab's strategic orientation towards becoming a leading early-stage investor for German fintech and blockchain start-ups and the provision of venture capital for their financial needs."
Rodriguez has been with Finlab since 2007, Schütze since 2013, and together they were responsible for the business of the Frankfurt-based investment house for eight years. "With the planned realignment of Finlab AG, as well as Heliad Equity Partners, my colleague and I have decided to leave the company by mutual agreement in order to implement the new strategy with new people," said Schütze in the press release. The reason for the change in strategy is the major shareholder Bernd Förtsch, who is said to have acquired around 29% of shares from Christian Angermayer in January 2021, as Börsengeflüster reports. Förtsch now holds more than half of the shares. He is also the founder of online broker Flatex.
"However, we will remain connected to the fintech world and the blockchain world in particular and will dedicate ourselves to the management of funds with our own company in the future," announced Schütze. Together they will manage the FinLab EOS VC Fund.
