Logistics start-up Saloodo expands to Argentina
The DHL subsidiary wants to gain a foothold in South America. So far, the start-up is active in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Cologne-based logistics start-up Saloodo has announced its expansion into South America. First, Saloodo will be active in Argentina and from there, if all goes according to plan, it will spread further across the continent. South America is one of the least connected continents, he said - a gap the DHL subsidiary hopes to fill. "Thanks to the successful launch of Saloodo in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we are now able to offer the service in South America," says Antje Huber, CEO of Saloodo. "This will help improve the connectivity and efficiency of the road freight system in this region." Argentina is the ideal springboard for market entry, the company says.
Since 2017, Saloodo has offered a logistics platform that allows the entire shipping process for international deliveries to be planned digitally. Customers can always see the current transport price on the platform. They can also manage all transport documents digitally there. "Our goal is to eliminate traditional and time-consuming offline logistics processes," says Eduardo Rodrigues, General Manager of DHL Global Forwarding Argentina.
