Markus Pertlwieser becomes new CEO of Penta

He was previously Head of Digital at Deutsche Bank.
Markus Pertlwieser will become Managing Director of the Berlin-based fintech Penta from February 15. The manager will be responsible for driving the start-up's growth and developing new business areas. Penta currently offers a digital platform for business banking for small and medium-sized enterprises and the self-employed.
"We are delighted that Penta has gained an excellent bank manager in Markus Pertlwieser, who has foresight and enormous expertise in digital business models," says Michael Hock, Managing Director of finleap and investor in Penta. "His experience in the implementation of corresponding business strategies will play a decisive role in helping Penta to become the most important digital platform for business banking." The fintech was founded in 2016 and has more than 25,000 customers. Pertlwieser worked at Deutsche Bank from 2008 to 2020 in various management positions, most recently as Chief Digital Officer for the bank's private and corporate clients. Prior to this, Pertlwieser worked for the management consultancy McKinsey. "Leading Penta is a very exciting task because the company operates in a market that is still in flux," Pertlwieser told the Handelsblatt.
