Markus Pertlwieser becomes new CEO of Penta

Previously, he was head of digital at Deutsche Bank.

Markus Pertlwieser will become managing director of Berlin-based fintech Penta from February 15. The manager is to push the growth of the start-up, as well as develop new business areas. So far, Penta offers a digital platform for business banking for small and medium-sized enterprises and the self-employed.

"His experience in implementing appropriate business strategies will be instrumental in moving Penta forward to become the most significant digital platform for business banking." The fintech was founded in 2016 and has more than 25,000 customers. Pertlwieser worked at Deutsche Bank from 2008 to 2020 in various leadership roles, most recently as chief digital officer for the bank's private and corporate clients. Prior to that, Pertlwieser worked at management consulting firm McKinsey. "Leading Penta is a very exciting task because the company works in a market that is still in motion," Pertlwieser told Handelsblatt
