Olivaw addresses challenges in the robotics industry with a solution approach for standardized integration. The startup receives 1.2 million euros for its cloud platform

Munich, April 8, 2024 - The Munich-based startup Olivaw has raised 1.2 million euros in a pre-seed financing round. Business angels and companies, including members of the BayStartUP investor network and the early-stage venture capital fund Plug & Play, participated in the investment.

Olivaw's vision is to set the future standard for professional service robots with its open skill store platform. The concept enables robots from different manufacturers to be controlled, monitored and equipped with different capabilities via a multi-cloud platform.

Olivaw removes the barriers associated with the widespread adoption of mobile robots in professional service industries such as hospitality and healthcare.

Challenges in the robotics industry

The increasing prevalence of professional service robots in industries such as hotels, restaurants and hospitals is a sign of increasing automation in society. However, there is a lack of standardized interfaces and guidelines for these robots, which makes collaboration and integration difficult.

The use of service robots in areas such as transportation or cleaning is becoming increasingly urgent in view of the growing shortage of skilled workers and is a rapidly growing market.

Barbara Dombay, Head of BayStartUP Investor Network,

The cloud platform is designed to remove these obstacles by simplifying the management of different robot fleets from different manufacturers and reducing costs. Fleet managers can use it to efficiently control larger fleets and benefit from scaling advantages.

Barbara Dombay, Head of the BayStartUP investor network, emphasizes the importance of the use of service robots in view of the shortage of skilled workers. Olivaw is expanding this market by improving the robots' capabilities, which increases its potential as a central hub for all topics related to service robots.

Olivaw's founding team, consisting of Oliver Stahl and Thomas Donle, brings many years of experience and expertise in the field of service robotics. Stahl, an experienced serial entrepreneur, and Donle, with extensive experience in sales in the technology sector, are leading the company with the aim of driving rapid growth and further developing the platform.

Future prospects and expansion plans

The Olivaw platform is aimed at robot manufacturers, distributors and companies in various industries that operate their own robot fleets. Several robot manufacturers and fleet managers have already opted for the platform, and the first customers are successfully using it to control test fleets.

The company's future plans include attracting more robot manufacturers, expanding the platform with additional services and capabilities, and acquiring large fleet managers as customers. Olivaw is also planning another round of funding to further drive growth and is looking for an experienced product manager to join the team.
