Rebike raises ten million euros

BayBG Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft invests together with the existing investors Vorwerk Ventures and STS Ventures. The founders want to use the funds to significantly expand their e-bike subscription business.
Vorwerk Ventures and STS Ventures were already on board with Rebike Mobility, and BayBG Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft is a new addition. Together, the three backers are investing ten million euros, as reported by Handelsblatt
.The Munich-based company, founded in 2018 by Thomas Bernik and Sven Erger, operates rebike1, a marketplace for the sale of used e-bikes, and eBike Abo, a subscription service for e-bikes. In addition, e-bikes can be rented via the rebike1 site. They want to put the newly raised money primarily into expanding their subscription business.
"We see enormous potential in the company, the market and the product," Otto Hopfner, investment manager at BayBG, told Handelsblatt about the investment in the Munich-based start-up. "E-bikes are the means of transport of the hour, because more and more people want to get around sustainably and healthily."
