Speedinvest plans to invest 500 million euros

The majority of the money will be put into pre-seed startups and seed techs through a new fund. The remaining capital will flow into follow-on investments of portfolio companies.
Seed investor Speedinvest has raised €500 million and plans to invest most of it in pre-seed startups and seed techs. The money comes from Erste Bank, Raiffaisenbank, New Enterprise Associates and Europea Investment Fonds, among others. 300 million euros are to be newly invested through the "Speedinvest 4" fund. The remaining capital is reserved for follow-on investments by existing portfolio companies.
In total, the venture capitalist, which was launched in Austria in 2011, now has an investment volume of over one billion euros. Speedinvest invests in companies throughout Europe and has offices in Berlin, Munich, London, Paris, Vienna and San Francisco. With "Speedinvest 4", the investor intends to invest mainly in deep-, fin-, industrial-, and healthtechs, as well as marketplaces and consumer and software-as-a-service. Initial companies in the fund include Neocarbon from Germany and the French fintech Drop.
Speedinvest says it currently has six tech unicorns in its portfolio, including German startups Wefox and Tier Mobility. Speedinvest also recently closed another fund in the "Climate & Industry" sector for 80 million euros. This fund aims to invest in startups that address sustainability challenges in the industrial sector.
