Bolt's e-scooters are now set to benefit from Swobbee's charging and swapping solutions. If the pilot project in Berlin is successful, the concept will also be rolled out in other cities.

Berlin-based greentech Swobbee and Estonian mobility company Bolt announce the start of their partnership. At the beginning of the cooperation, Bolt is testing Swobbee's charging and swapping solutions with its Berlin e-scooter fleet.

"By partnering with Swobbee, we are able to use a decentralized network of charging stations where we can swap batteries with e-cargo bikes instead of vans, making our operations more efficient and sustainable," says Balthasar Scheder, Country Manager of Bolt Germany for the rental sector. The mobility provider no longer has to collect empty batteries and take them to a warehouse for charging and back again. From now on, the empty batteries can be exchanged for fully charged ones at the battery exchange stations. The stations are located near Bolt's Berlin e-scooter hotspot.

"With scooters in 59 cities across Germany, we hope to expand the partnership to other cities in the coming months," says Scheder.
