Swobbee and Bolt launch partnership

Bolt's e-scooters are now to benefit from Swobbee's charging and changing solutions. If the pilot project in Berlin is successful, the concept will come to other cities.

Berlin-based greentech Swobbee and Estonian mobility company Bolt announce the launch of their partnership. At the beginning of the cooperation, Bolt will test Swobbee's charging and changing solutions with its Berlin e-scooter fleet.

"By partnering with Swobbee, we are able to use a decentralized network of charging stations where we can swap batteries with e-cargo bikes instead of vans, making our operations more efficient and sustainable," said Balthasar Scheder, Bolt Germany's country manager for rental. The mobility provider now no longer has to collect empty batteries and take them to a warehouse for recharging and back again. From now on, the empty batteries will be able to be exchanged for fully charged ones at the battery exchange stations. The stations are located near Bolt's Berlin e-scooter hotspot.

"With scooters in 59 cities across Germany, we hope to expand the partnership to more cities in the coming months," says Scheder.
